Nelson Mine in Eldorado Canyon

March 15: We flew into Las Vegas on the 14th so our plans for the next day included a wonderful Dim Dum brunch and then an free afternoon to explore. We had met Ed in Las Vegas at the airport as he was coming back from Hawaii and joined us for our visit. For the afternoon on Sunday, we kept driving to a minimum and took in some easy sites. The next day would be more abitious.

Death Valley

March 16: Death Valley beckoned because of the Super Blooms that were happening. This is a rare occurance - maybe every 15 years or so - due to wetter-than-average fall and winter conditions. We hit a sweet spot weatherwise because the temps were going to rise to dangerous levels in the following days.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Lee and Casey attended a show in November at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The music and light show were amazing. Both took video and Casey created a couple video compilations; each are less than two minutes long:
